Her name is Julia Nunes. http://www.julianunes.com/ What he said about her is SO TRUE!

"I was searching around youtube the other day and noticed a picture of somebody's fingers on the fretboard of a ukelele so I clicked just to see and what I found was what I believe true talent really is. It's a college girl named Julia Nunes and she isnt trying to get a record deal, isnt trying to do anything else but just play music and she does this just sitting in front of her computer playing. If you are looking for stunning chops or pitch perfect notes then this isnt what you want. BUT if you want to see what I believe the true spirit of music is, then I think this is it. Basicaly she just records with either a guitar or a uke straight into her computer's mic and just does the take just like it is. She then somehow digitally overdubs other parts along with herself. Needless to say, it was enchanting! If you look at all her videos you'll see she has this sort of happy and sunny disposition that I find refreshing. I'm drawn to her talent but not in a retarded "Oh, she is hot!" kind of way. As I said, it's because of her uniqueness and the fact that she doesn't need anything more than an instrument and a couple of voices to get it all across. No fancy studio takes, no Pro Tools post mix fix-ups, and really nothing more than what comes out of her mouth and hands. This proves to me once again that if you're talented, it will speak for itself and all the technology in the world won't change that."

Here are some links to her performances:

God Only Knows (Beach Boys) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr09fYxQXMU (This one sealed the deal for me!)

This one was a Youtube feature clip: Into The Sunshine (Original) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk5L0-SIceg

Regrets (Original) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzps9iXwpG4

Survivor (Desiny's Child) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-lt3vVA-4I

I can go on and on. The doctor says that I should, but I just can't bring myself to do it. It's not my thing. My wife does it for all the right reasons. To stay in shape, to lose weight/maintain weight, and because it makes her feel good. Even when she considers herself "overweight", she is still in remarkable shape. Very flexible too. I sever my hamstrings picking up sticks in the backyard. So there ya go. My wife and I have both done Weight Watchers and with great success. We've both tried other diets, but they were practical for our lifestyle. With WW, you just eat what you eat, but points are assigned to foods. And depending on how much you're overweight, you get so many points a day. So what happens is you end up eating healthy foods, eating much smaller portions, and eating more often. This speeds your metabolism up and burns fat. So, it seems like you're always eating.. which you are! Just healthy foods in smaller portions, and all the time. I don't need to lose any weight right now as I weigh about 205. When Jack was born, I weighed almost 240 which is NOT normal for me! That was three years ago. I tweaked my diet a bit, and lost a bunch of weight. I mainly cut out fatty lunches, and then started taking amphetimines. That really helped. 205 is a maintainable weight for me. My wife has recently lost about 18lbs, but she's also toning her muscles. So where she hasn't lost as many pounds as she'd like, the toning makes her look like she's lost about 30lbs. So she is looking REALLY good. Her fave exercise videos are from the Tae Bo series. MY favorite thing to do is watch her do Tae Bo. "Yeah, pump it, pump it! Faster! Come now! Do it! Push! Feel the burn baby! Deeper!" Not unlike the first John Holmes video I ever saw. So, as my arteries continue to clog, and my bones turn to dust, I'll continue to get my kicks watching her do her exercises. Like the high school janitor that likes to hang out at the mall on weekends. There is indeed something not right with me. I suggest you men out there encourage your wife to exercise. It will do wonders for your sex drive.

"I Heard Ya Missed Us... It was great! We were at stage level in the back corner on Eddie's side. I though it sounded perfect. Others that sat up real high on the side complained that they could barely make out the song they were doing. But not the case where we were. I thought Wolf did a great job, but basically had ZERO stage presence. Eddie didn't quite have the fire that he had several years ago, simply because I think he's been away from it for so long. But he was still awesome. The band was super tight too. I think I was most impressed with Dave though. He didn't mess around, and most importantly he sang all the words! You could tell that he was taking it very seriously. The fact that the tour even finished confirms what Dave said at the press conference... that they have put all the BS behind them, consider themselves a "new band", and are in it for the long haul. It is a real shame that Michael Anthony isn't with them. Still doesn't seem right. My buddy saw Sammy not long after VH was in town, and said he might try and throw the Indy show up on my site, so check back. And by the way... the funniest thing about the whole night was that you could see their blinding white teeth from the back of the arena! It was like they had their teeth replaced with giant Chicklits!

Punch Judy MySpace Site

For those who don't know I play in a local cover band out of Indy called Punch Judy. I'm one of the co-lead singers and I also play rhythm guitar. I've been in the band since July of 2005 and it's been the best time ever! I've learned so much about music, notes and how they coincide with sound, various dance moves related to Celtic genre, how to eat chicken wings while playing, the Holocaust, how to spend all your earnings on gas, food, and beer, and how to piss your wife off for being gone on the weekends then being a slug the following Sunday cuz the Colts are on and yer tired. As I said, it's been the most fun ever!

But really, it has been and the band is smokin'. They are the three best friends a guy could want, with or without the "music". Playing in Punch Judy has grown me musically by leaps and bounds, and I really enjoy the idea of playing my Paul or Balls at high volumes every weekend. One of these days, I won't be as lucky to be able to do that sort of thing, so I'm enjoying it now while I can. We all are. So check out our Myspace site by clicking "Punch Judy" link here on my site, and it will take you there. Before too long, we'll have an all new website with the ability to purchase the long lost Punch Judy Everything is Fine CD recorded back in 1997, as well as really cool demos. Thanks!

New Pictures!

I uploaded a bunch of new pictures on the pictures page.
