Traxxas Revo 3.3 with Platinumish Upgrades, FAST and very nice!!
Here is my beloved Revo 3.3 with Platinumish
mods. Lots of hop ups! Alum racing knuckles,
17mm splined hubs, 2075 Steering Servo, Pro
Line single servo arm, 2056 Shifting servo,
Bearings in throttle linkage, new 36T spur, new
motor mount, new fuel tank, long gear ratio in
the tranny, Resonator Pipe, Platinum Air
Filter, Response Pro tires (best tires I've
ever had) with plenty of tread, Pro Line
Downforce wing (Yellow), Tekno Wing Mount,
Tekno Rear A-Arms (like True Trak's), TRX 7075
rods and buckles all around, P2 Rockers, basher
body that looks good but has some cracks that I
repaired with Gorilla tape. Plenty of life in
it, plus two more decent bodies. Engine was
broken in by me summer of 2009 and purchased
new, has a couple gallons TOPS on it. NO RADIO
or RX at this point, but I probl have a stock
one for it (just ask if you need it). Out of
all of my trucks, THIS is the one I go to when
I want to "show off my driving abilities"
because it's the best driving, handling, and
maneuverable vehicle I've ever had! I shouldn't
sell it... but I need the money. If it doesn't
sell, I won't be sad to keep this one!!
Also includes a couple of basher bodies. The purple one needs reinforced in the rear, and the white one is really thick .060 Lexan. It's beat up, but is in sound shape. It was even involved in an ESC Fire when mounted to my E-Revo Brushless, but I got the body pulled off before it could get damaged. The black that you see is just smoke soot. Surprisingly, the body didn't melt!! Looks great with that wing too.
A note about the motor... many people say "Plenty of life left, only a few tanks ran thru it!" Then when you get it, you find that it's lost it's pinch, or barely has any. That is not the case with this motor. I bought it new last summer and broke it in myself. The piston head is a bit brown because it get pretty hot here, and I run it just lean enough. I've broken in many engines, and it was done right. My temps with this motor are almost on the money every single time at 230-240. I use an O'Donnell Temp gun and med/hot glow plugs. I also use Traxxas 20% nitro fuel. I've ran a few tanks of Byrons 20% thru it as well. After break in, there is almost no way that I've put more than 2 gallons thru this truck because I have so many vehicles. It may only have a gallon ran thru it after break in. I just can't say for sure. But I can say that this motor is in no way "on the outs". As I said, this is my favorite veh to drive when I want to nail jumps and show off. It's highly controllable and fast. And that's saying something since I don't run sway bars on this one!!
If you are interested, I also have a Tekno radio box that I removed because at the time, I was sharing receivers and it doesn't clamp on like the TRX one does. I got sick of having to unscrew the lid. But if you use the same RX in the truck all the time, you'll LOVE that radio box. Ask me about it, and I just might include it! I have tons of nitro Revo parts that I most likely won't use again, since all of my trucks based off this platform are now Brushless. Also have the Opti-Drive module if you are interested in that. But this tranny was converted to Foward Only, so I removed it.

Traxxas E-Jato VXL! Custom converted and Fast!
Traxxas E-Jato VXL! Custom converted and Fast!
This is Jato 3.3 that I converted to an E-Jato
using the Traxxas VXL system, Tranny has the
Single Speed Conversion kit installed, instead
of locking the tranny which means this Jato has
reverse! The reason for doing this is because
the nitro Jato doesn't have reverse obviously.
Since the VXL ESC provides reverse, the
transmission must either be locked or converted
to a single speed tranny in order to spin
backwards. Without doing this, if you hit
reverse the truck sits still but the motor
spins in reverse because there aren't any gears
to spin backwards! With the single speed
conversion kit there is only one gear in the
tranny, rather than two. This also means that
you no longer have to rely on seperate brakes
as the ESC does all of the braking. Some guys
do their conversions in a way that you can
still use the Jato brakes, but I think that is
senseless. This truck also features a
Stampede/Rustler/Revo slipper clutch system, Ti
Shock shafts, Traxxas 6061-T6 Silver Alum
chassis, Traxxas Red 7075 alum buckles and
links all around, 2075 Waterproof Hi-Torque
Digital steering servo, new steering crank
(which is dyed from grey to burgundy!), and a
wheelie bar. Needs new rear tires! These tires
had decent tread on them at one time, but
running anything other than street tires on
road will get bald in a hurry. If I were you, I
would look to get a set of Jaco's or Traxxas
Anacondas. You can easily set this truck up for
off-road as well. You'll need firmer springs,
loosen the slipper, a smaller pinion gear, and
off road tires. It'll perform just like a
Rustler would, maybe better!
I ran the truck on a 2s Lipo and had no heat issues. The velcro shown is what I used to secure the battery. I used an SMC Lipo as well as a Turnigy 5.0 2s 5000mah 40C battery, and they both fit inside the chassis perfectly. You'll want to make sure that your lipo will fit because if it's too long, it might not. But the beauty of this vehicle is that you can just reconfigure where the RX and Lipo go, as there are many options for placement! The velcro bases are where I attached the receiver. The VXL receiver is waterproof and screwed into the chassis. It's very secure. Running 54/22T gearing which is a bit too high for 3s Lipo. The VXL Combo is rated for 3s lipos, but you need to gear down. Otherwise, the LVC will kick on prematurely. When running 3s, I just turned off the LVC, but I don't advise you doing that unless you know what you're doing. You can over drain your Lipo and ruin it. I should also note that this truck will run just fine on NiMH batteries. The truck has nothing to do with what you can run. You run this truck just like it's a VXL Rustler or Stampede. It's no different. Just go to www.traxxas.com and read about the VXL ESC and Motor, and you'll know what you can do with it. I ran truck the with a Spektrum DX2.0 but I am keeping that radio. So I will include a stock Traxxas TQ2 Radio and receiver. Body is in good shape, but the rear wing part came off from wheelies (before I added the wheelie bar!!) I've applied duct tape to cover the nitro cut outs and it works great. All you need to do is add your battery of choice and go!!

Here is a video clip of the truck (note- the movie clip shows 54/26T gearing which was an error on my part. The gearing is 54/22T!!)
